Distribution of Net Game Revenue
  • Distribution occurs weekly.
  • Retailers receive a percentage of Net revenue based on specified terms within the jurisdictional contract between Southland Gaming of the Virgin Islands, Inc. and the Virgin Islands Lottery.
  • Virgin Islands Lottery receives its share of net game revenue weekly along with complete weekly statement of revenue.

Functions Performed by the Central System
  • Automatic meter data collection (all play information from each VLT)
  • Revenue sharing calculations (ensures Lottery Receives proper share)
  • Financial report generation (several types - all available to Lottery)
  • Inventory control (track location and placement of every VLT)
  • Game play tracking (determine most popular games)
Automatic Meter Data Collection
  • Computer embedded in each VLT
  • Main computer at each location gathers meters from all networked subsidiary at each location and delivers to the Central System
  • Central System delivers all data to Lottery.

Automatic Meter Reading Procedures
  • Central server recieves meter readings from "main" VLT at each location.
  • At scheduled times each week the meter readings are "frozen", and the last weeks meter readings are subtracted to calculate revenue.
  • Revenue shares are calculated and reports generated on site.
  • Complete weekly sales, marketing, and collection reports are sent immediately to management terminal at the Lottery
  • The Virgin Islands Lottery can audit reports at any time.
Central System Security
  • All network links are encrypted (RSA certificates)
  • Ethernet over CAT5 cabling is used to connect all VLTs within a location, using 100Mb switching gear
  • Location's network separated from Southland's network by firewall technology.
  • Wireless links are used in place of cable at some sites. This traffic is encrypted twice.
Certification and Testing
  • While the Virgin Island Lottery does not have a standard set forth regarding terminal certifications, Southland Gaming of the Virgin Islands, Inc. contracts an third party company to ensure that all of its systems meet standards within the industry.
  • Southland Gaming of the Virgin Islands provides THE answer for a secure, streamlined and monitored video lottery system.
